Aggressive Chemicals - No Problem For Watson-Marlow Pumps | ||
![]() | A paper plant in Phoenix City, AL that produces coated natural craft paperboard was struggling with failing diaphragm pumps for their wastewater aeration basin application. After a successful trial installation using a Watson-Marlow 520U/R pump, they purchased this pump plus several more for metering phosphoric acid at the same flow rate of 15-25 gallons per hour. Following the success with the water treatment applications, the plant installed multiple 520U/R pumps in other process areas of the plant including several 520U/R pumps for metering soda ash and sodium nitrite solution into starch mix tanks for pH adjustment. These pumps offer maintenance free performance in a corrosive environment while providing the accurate and repeatable flow rates required for precise process control. In all applications, Marprene tubing was selected for its resistance to the various chemicals used in the process and its ability to provide the required flow rates.
