Tablet coating equipment must ensure consistency, uniformity and strength in thickness of coatings applied even after multiple layering. Peristaltic pumps are used for the coating of solid tablets, pressed tablets and caplets as well as the manufacture of soft-caps. Watson-Marlow pumps give the uniform coating required through an extensive flow rate range, excellent flow stability and low pulsation. The coating is contained within sterile tubing reducing any contamination issue or wear problem through contact with moving mechanical parts, unlike gear or lobe pumps. Our on-campus tubing has a wide range of chemical resistance ideally suited to the different coatings including methylene chloride. The tubing is the only consumable. Single-use technology, facilitating rapid process validation. - Extensive flow rate range and chemical compatibility
- Peristaltic pumps can self-prime and run dry
- Single-use technology – the tubing is the only consumable
