313D cleans up diaphragm pump in dental equipment

A dental equipment manufacturer based in Denver, decided to replace a competitors 5100 series pump with the Watson-Marlow 313D pump in their new model of self contained dental care systems. The pump is needed to purge the waste accumulator tank at the end of the day.

According to the president of the company, the diaphragm pump originally selected for the Model 2025 evacuator system clogged easily when pumping blood, tissue and other wastes generated during normal dental procedures. It was not reliable at all.

He contacted Watson-Marlow for help in early May and was given a pump for trial.

Testing proved to be successful and a purchase order was issued the following month for 200 units to be built into their machines. This is their annual forecasted volume.

Following the success of the 313D application, they are now also considering the 400F/A pump for supplying sterile water required for oral surgery equipment.
